Rammstein Addresses Sexual Misconduct Claims, Frontman Sues German Media

German industrial metal band Rammstein has issued a statement addressing the ongoing sexual misconduct allegations against them, while frontman Till Lindemann has filed a lawsuit against a German news outlet for its coverage of the accusations.

Last year, a fan accused Lindemann of providing her with a spiked drink at a pre-party for a Rammstein concert in Vilnius, Lithuania. The band initially denied the allegations, stating that they "can rule out the possibility that what is being claimed took place in our environment." However, further allegations of sexual misconduct emerged, prompting German authorities to open an investigation. The investigation was subsequently dropped without any charges being filed.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Rammstein acknowledged the allegations, writing that they are "actively dealing with the allegations" and that this is "an internal process that will accompany us for a long time." They also minimised some of the claims, stating that "a lot of it is baseless and grossly exaggerated."

The statement, translated from German, also expressed gratitude to fans and crew for their support during the band's recent stadium tour: "We want to say a big thank you to all of our fans, our friends and visitors to our concerts. Thank you for your support, your warmth and support on this 2024 tour. We could feel it everywhere and felt carried on a wave full of emotions."

Meanwhile, Lindemann has taken legal action against the German media outlet *Der Spiegel*, accusing them of publishing false information and attempting to commit trial fraud. In a press release, Lindemann's lawyers claim that the allegations against him are "without exception untrue" and that *Der Spiegel

included falsified documents in their reporting.

The band's statement and Lindemann's lawsuit come amidst ongoing controversy surrounding Rammstein and their frontman. The allegations have sparked a public debate and prompted numerous investigations, although no criminal charges have been filed. The band's future remains uncertain as they grapple with these accusations and their implications.
