Queens of the Stone Age frontman, Josh Homme, remains under medical care following emergency surgery, leading to further postponements of the band's European tour.
The band announced earlier this month that they were cancelling their July dates due to Homme's need to return to the United States for the surgery. On Friday, a further announcement confirmed that eight more shows, up to 21st August, have also been postponed.
"Due to continued medical care, it is under doctors' orders that Josh Homme remain in their care in the United States," the band's statement on X, formerly Twitter, read.
The band expressed gratitude for the well wishes and understanding from fans during this time.
Social media was flooded with messages of support for Homme, with fans wishing him well and praising his influence.
"Best wishes Josh, you're the last rockstar I even look up to," one fan wrote. "Stay strong brother."
"Stay strong Josh, you got this," wrote another.
"Sending you all our best," added a third. "We know if you could perform you would and we hope you can focus on rest, recovery and feeling well."
No details were provided regarding the nature of the emergency surgery. However, Variety reported that Homme has previously discussed health struggles, including a cancer surgery in 2022.
The 51-year-old Homme founded Queens of the Stone Age in 1996. The band has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and achieved chart success with their 2013 album, "...Like Clockwork," which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200.
The band has not yet announced rescheduled dates for the postponed shows. Fans are eagerly awaiting updates on Homme's health and the future of the tour.
