Priscilla Presley Claims "Financial Elder Abuse" in Lawsuit

Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of Elvis Presley, is once again in court, this time alleging "financial elder abuse" against her former business partners. She claims that they misappropriated over $1 million from her, leading to "a form of indentured servitude."

This latest lawsuit comes after Priscilla was relegated to a minor role in the management of Elvis Presley's estate following the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in January 2023. Lisa Marie's daughter, Riley Keough, became the sole trustee of the estate, displacing Priscilla and former business manager Barry Siegel as co-trustees.

Priscilla's legal team alleges that her former business partner, Brigitte Kruse, took advantage of her vulnerability following Lisa Marie's death. They claim Kruse "gained her trust, isolated her from the most important people in her life, and duped her into believing that they would take care of her (personally and financially)." The lawsuit asserts that this was "a meticulously planned and abhorrent scheme to prey on an older woman."

Kruse, who primarily works as an auctioneer, began her working relationship with Priscilla in 2021. They met through mutual friends and discussed Kruse's potential role in selling Elvis memorabilia. According to the lawsuit, Kruse "fraudulently induced [Priscilla] into giving them power of attorney, control over her family and personal trusts, and control over her bank accounts."

Kruse, in response to these allegations, posted a Winston Churchill quote on her Instagram, suggesting the truth will ultimately come out. She also wrote a prayer for those who "hurt her so deeply" and for blessings to be bestowed upon those in need.

In October 2023, Kruse filed a lawsuit against Priscilla, claiming that she "illegally walked away from their business partnership" around the time of Lisa Marie's death.

This latest legal battle adds to the complex web of issues surrounding the Presley family and the management of Elvis's legacy. With both Priscilla and Kruse alleging wrongdoing against each other, it remains to be seen how this legal dispute will unfold and what implications it will have on the future of Elvis's estate.
