Following the parade of athletes and awe-inspiring acrobatic performances, Phoenix kicked off the festivities with a rousing rendition of their hit "Lisztomania". The band also treated the audience to performances of "If I Ever Feel Better" and "1901", further showcasing their diverse musical repertoire. The performance gained an extra layer of excitement as Phoenix welcomed special guests to the stage, including Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend and Cambodian rapper VannDa, adding an international flavour to the proceedings.

Adding to the eclectic mix of French talent on display, French electronic artist Kavinsky took the stage with singer Angèle, performing their hit single "Nightcall". The duo's energy infused the atmosphere with a pulsating beat, further highlighting the vibrancy of contemporary French music.

The closing ceremony also featured a nostalgic nod to the "French touch" house music subgenre, with Air performing their iconic track "Playground Love". The band's soulful melodies and infectious rhythms provided a poignant soundtrack to the end of an unforgettable sporting spectacle.

The handover of the Olympic Games from Paris to Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Games, took place during the closing ceremony. Los Angeles native Snoop Dogg, a prominent figure throughout the Paris Games, played a key role in the handover, adding a touch of Hollywood glamour to the proceedings. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo formally passed the Olympic flag to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, signifying the transition of the Games.

The ceremony concluded with a performance by Californian R&B artist H.E.R., who sang the US national anthem. The ceremony also featured performances by other Los Angeles-based artists, including Billie Eilish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, setting the stage for the upcoming Games in 2028.
