Based on Diana Gabaldon's bestselling novels, *Outlander
premiered on Starz in 2014, quickly captivating audiences with its blend of historical drama, romance, and adventure.
The show follows Claire, a World War II nurse who finds herself transported back to 18th-century Scotland after encountering mysterious standing stones during her honeymoon. In this new time, she meets Jamie Fraser and embarks on a love story that spans centuries. Since its premiere, the series has taken viewers on a thrilling journey with Claire and Jamie, from the Scottish Highlands to the court of Louis XIV, the Caribbean, 1960s Boston, the American colonies, and now, the American Revolution.
While Gabaldon is still working on the final tenth book in the series, the show will draw to a close with season eight. Part Two of season seven will premiere in November 2023, with season eight set for release in 2025. Production on the show is set to wrap up this autumn.
Although the series is coming to an end, fans can look forward to a prequel, *Outlander â Blood of My Blood*, currently in production.
