Orlando Bloom's Former Hollywood Hills Home Up for Sale for Nearly £4 Million

A decade after actor Orlando Bloom sold his Hollywood Hills home for nearly $4 million, the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star's infamous black-painted residence has resurfaced on the market. Completely transformed on the inside, but still retaining its distinctive dark exterior which reportedly caused some neighbourly strife at the time, the ranch-style abode is now on offer for just under £4 million. The property is listed by Claire and Sam O’Connor of Berkshire Hathaway.

Bloom and his ex-wife Miranda Kerr purchased the house in 2007 for almost $2.8 million. The couple, who were famously burgled at this address two years later by the Bling Ring crew, sold the home in 2014 to an unknown buyer. It ultimately went to former Hulu executive and BlueView Real Estate founder Jeff Martin via foreclosure in 2022 for $3.1 million.

Tucked behind gates on a three-quarters of an acre plot in the Outpost Estates enclave, the wood-sided, blue-shingle-roofed structure was built in the 1940s. Extensively renovated during Martin's ownership by BlueView Real Estate, the premises feature four bedrooms and four bathrooms spanning approximately 3,300 square feet of stylish living space. The interior boasts white oak floors, high wood-beam ceilings throughout, and doors in every room opening to the outside.

The home's highlights include a window-lined living room with a striking veined-marble fireplace and a door leading out to a patio perfect for al fresco lounging and entertaining. A wainscoted dining room connects via a hallway to the sky-lit kitchen, which is equipped with custom cabinetry, an eat-in island, top-tier stainless steel appliances, and a cosy fireside seating alcove.

The property also includes an office space with another fireplace and a primary suite complete with a wood-fluted accent wall, a built-in window seat, a walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom featuring dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a large rainfall shower. Outside, the terraced grounds boast a waterfall-fed pool and spa surrounded by a brick-clad sundeck. Steps lead up to a lofty pergola-shaded seating area overlooking the city lights.

Mansion Global reports that the property also includes a separate bedroom that could be used as a recording studio, a fitness room, or an office, along with a lengthy driveway leading to a spacious motorcourt flanked by an attached two-car garage.
