Oasis Reunion: Liam Gallagher Fuels Speculation With Cryptic Tweets

The rumour mill surrounding a potential Oasis reunion is spinning faster than a Gallagher brother's temper. Liam Gallagher's recent social media activity has only added fuel to the fire, leaving fans guessing whether the Britpop icons will finally reconcile and grace the stage together.

Over the weekend, amidst the buzz surrounding the Reading Festival – which Oasis headlined 24 years ago – reports emerged suggesting the Gallagher brothers had buried their 15-year feud and were set to announce a series of UK gigs in 2025. The rumours, first reported by *The Times

UK, claimed "industry insiders" confirmed a reunion, hinting at an announcement as early as Tuesday.

Liam, however, initially distanced himself from the speculation, tweeting, "News to me" and "I know nothing" in response to fan inquiries. However, as the day unfolded, Gallagher began to play with the flames of expectation. When a fan expressed their fear about the potential announcement, Liam responded, "Your scared how do you think I feel?"

Perhaps the most telling tweet came when a fan criticised Heaton Park as a "terrible venue" for a possible gig. Liam quipped back, "See you down the front you big fanny," seemingly confirming the venue and hinting at his involvement in the rumoured gigs.

The teasing continued on Sunday morning, with Liam promising a tour date announcement "Nxt Friday" and declaring his 2025 plans as "World domination." He even went on to declare, "I never did like that word FORMER," seemingly referring to himself as a former Oasis member.

Despite Liam's cryptic tweets, Noel Gallagher remains tight-lipped on the subject. While rumours of an Oasis reunion have surfaced periodically over the past decade, ultimately leaving fans disappointed, this latest round of speculation coincides with the 30th anniversary of the band's debut album, *Definitely, Maybe*. The album was reissued earlier this year, accompanied by a Liam-led tour.

Back in June 2023, *Rolling Stone

interviewed Noel, who seemingly expressed more reluctance towards a reunion than his brother. "I've accepted now that this is never gonna go away," Noel said regarding the constant reunion rumours. He further stated, "I've put it out there that if Liam really wants to do it, he should fucking call me, and he hasn't called me, so I'm just assuming that he doesn't want it either. Well, I know for a fact he doesn't want it either, but he likes to paint this picture of, you know, this little fucking guy who's sitting with his suitcase packed by the door, you know, like the little fucking cat from fucking *Shrek*, you know, the little fucking Spanish cat with these big fucking teary eyes. 'I'm [gonna] go and do it now for you fans. I love you.' It's like, well, fucking call me then. And he hasn't called me. And until he does, it's fucking going nowhere."

With Liam's cryptic tweets and Noel's previous statements, the question remains: Is this a genuine reunion or simply another round of Gallagher brother gamesmanship? Fans will have to wait until next Friday to find out if the rumours have any substance or if they will once again be left with a case of "Definitely Maybe, Definitely Not."
