NBCUniversal Promotes Jeanne Mau to Lead TV Programming DEI

Jeanne Mau, a veteran television executive with a strong track record in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), has been promoted to Executive Vice President for TV Programming DEI at NBCUniversal. The move reflects the company's continued commitment to fostering a more inclusive and representative entertainment landscape.

Mau, who joined NBCUniversal in 2021, previously held the position of Senior Vice President for TV Programming DEI. In her new role, she will continue to report to Universal Studio Group chairman Pearlena Igbokwe and NBCU Entertainment chairman Frances Berwick.

"Over the past three years, Jeanne has systematically expanded and elevated our inclusion efforts in television," said Igbokwe and Berwick in a joint statement. "She has introduced us to new voices in front of and behind the camera and become an invaluable resource to our showrunners and internal creative teams. We remain committed to our principles and, as we look to the future, Jeanne will continue to serve a critical role in our business by supporting our goal of producing compelling content that appeals to global audiences."

Mau's promotion comes on the heels of notable achievements in driving DEI initiatives across NBCUniversal's television operations. She has been instrumental in overseeing the NBCU Launch initiative, a comprehensive program designed to advance DEI across the company's linear networks, Peacock streaming service, and studio group. She has also spearheaded the modernization of NBCUniversal's writing and directing programs, and spearheaded the first major inclusion efforts in unscripted programming at the company.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Mau spent two decades at CBS, where she rose to Senior Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. Her expertise in fostering inclusive environments extends beyond television, as she serves as an advisory board member for the Alliance of Women Directors.

Mau's promotion signals NBCUniversal's continued dedication to building a more diverse and equitable industry. Her experience and leadership will be crucial in driving the company's efforts to create a more inclusive and representative television landscape for both talent and audiences.
