Paramount+ UK to air "Dating Naked UK"

Paramount+ UK is set to premiere the new reality dating show "Dating Naked UK" on August 23rd, hosted by the ever-popular Rylan Clark. This sizzling series, produced by Nest Productions, will see 10 singletons seeking romance while baring all in a tropical paradise. New episodes will drop weekly on Fridays, offering viewers a weekly dose of cheeky dating drama.

The show, featuring no blurring or pixelation, puts contestants through their paces as new arrivals shake things up and existing relationships are tested. Each episode includes romantic dates and a nail-biting elimination round dubbed the "Dumping Ground".

The cast includes a diverse group of hopefuls, including Billy Field, a 24-year-old Essex builder; Chrislove Brandt, a Las Vegas hairdresser; Dan Ash, a 32-year-old personal trainer; and Dominik Herbert, a 27-year-old Canadian. Other participants include Emily Read (26), Lauren Beschi (26), Mike Durrant (29), Rico Hammett (30), Romeo (32), and Tiegan Rudge (26). The ultimate prize? A hefty cash reward for those who make it to the end.

"Dating Naked UK" joins a growing trend of nude dating shows. VH1's "Dating Naked" ran for three seasons in the US between 2014 and 2016. Channel 4 in the UK previously aired "Naked Attraction", a dating game show where contestants chose partners based on gradual reveals of their naked bodies. The format has been adapted in several countries, including Germany's "Adam sucht Eva" (Adam Seeks Eve).

Alex Garland to headline Edinburgh Industry Film Festival

The Edinburgh Industry Film Festival will host a keynote address from renowned writer and director Alex Garland on August 18th at Tollcross Central Hall. Garland, known for films like "Civil War", "The Beach", "28 Days Later", and "Ex Machina", will be joined on stage by producer Andrew Macdonald to discuss their long-standing creative partnership.

The festival's new industry section will include a case study of Charlotte Regan's 2023 hit "Scrapper", featuring insights from BBC Film director Eva Yates and Picturehouse Entertainment acquisitions manager Julia Trawinska. The event will also include an intimate conversation with iconic filmmaker Gaspar Noe.

DAZN secures rights to The Women’s Cup Global Series

DAZN, the global sports streaming platform, has secured the rights to broadcast The Women’s Cup Global Series, featuring international club matches across two tournaments in the United States. This exciting event brings together eight teams from five continents, including Kansas City Current, Atlético Madrid, Mamelodi Sundowns, and INAC Kobe competing in Kansas City, Missouri. A second tournament in Louisville, Kentucky, will feature Racing Louisville, Juventus, Palmeiras, and Colo-Colo.

The series, scheduled for August 9th to 17th, will culminate in a Final Four championship in early 2025, with the winners from each tournament advancing. DAZN will stream all eight matches live and free across Europe, adding to its portfolio of women’s soccer rights, which includes the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Liga F, D1 Arkema, and Google-Pixel Frauen Bundesliga. This marks the largest iteration of The Women’s Cup to date, reflecting the competition's continued growth and popularity.

Newcastle United launches direct-to-consumer streaming service

English Premier League soccer club Newcastle United has teamed up with Endeavor Streaming to launch a dedicated direct-to-consumer streaming service. The platform will provide live coverage of pre-season friendlies and exclusive content to the club's global fanbase.

The service will stream Newcastle's upcoming pre-season matches, including their tour of Japan for the J. League International Series 2024. Fans can access pre-season games via pay-per-view, with club members enjoying discounted access. Content will include live matches, player interviews, highlights, full match replays, and original documentaries. The platform will also feature select Newcastle United Women, U21, and U18 fixtures during the season.

Endeavor Streaming's Vesper platform will power the new web application, which will be seamlessly integrated into NewcastleUnited.com and the official NUFC mobile apps.

Endeavor Streaming has previously collaborated with other football entities, including Tottenham Hotspur, UEFA, and the National Women’s Soccer League.
