McGregor Launches Record Label in Dublin

Conor McGregor, the Irish mixed martial arts superstar, is taking his entrepreneurial spirit to new heights by launching his own record label, Greenback Records, in his hometown of Dublin. This marks the first major record label to be established in the city.

McGregor, known for his business acumen beyond the octagon, partnered with Richard Buck and Julian O’Brien for this venture. The label aims to be a multi-genre platform, offering artists fair profit-sharing arrangements with payout structures described as “unheard of in the industry.”

"I am excited to create Ireland's first major record label in an industry that I have had great interest in for some time,” McGregor stated. "To be able to come in and offer music artists a fair deal and properly reward them for their talent. This industry, like others, has needed an overhaul for a long time. I am excited for myself, McGregor Sports & Entertainment, to partner with Richard and Julian as founders to bring Greenback Records to life!"

Greenback Records has already signed numerous artists, though their identities remain undisclosed at this point. The label's establishment adds to McGregor's growing list of business ventures, showcasing his ambition to diversify his portfolio beyond fighting.

He previously founded Proper No. 12, a successful whiskey brand that was sold to Proximo Spirits in a deal estimated to be worth $600 million. McGregor, the brand's original founder, remains a prominent figure in its promotions, reaping the rewards of his entrepreneurial success.

McGregor also ventured into the beer market with Forged Irish Stout, a brand that continues to expand its reach globally. In April, he became a part-owner of BKFC, further solidifying his presence in the combat sports arena.

While his fighting career has been sidelined since 2021 due to a broken toe, McGregor has expressed his intent to return to the UFC before the year's end. However, no official announcements regarding his next fight have been made.

McGregor's foray into the music industry is a testament to his evolving business interests and his commitment to fostering talent in his native Ireland. Greenback Records is poised to be a major player in the Irish music scene, offering artists a platform to showcase their creativity and receive fair compensation for their hard work.
