Marvel Boss Teases X-Men & Spider-Man Future

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has offered tantalising glimpses into the future of the MCU, with updates on both the upcoming *Deadpool & Wolverine

film and the next *Spider-Man* adventure.

Speaking to io9, Feige confirmed that the next *Spider-Man

movie is well underway, with writers currently working on a draft. He revealed, "Amy [Pascal] and I are working on it. We have writers who are going to be delivering us a draft relatively soon."

While the focus was on *Deadpool & Wolverine*, Feige also addressed the long-awaited arrival of the X-Men in the MCU. He acknowledged the plethora of characters available, hinting at a blend of familiar faces and new additions.

"It's that phrase we use often at Marvel, which is 'It's an embarrassment of riches'," Feige said. "And there are a lot of great X-Men characters in the *Deadpool & Wolverine

film. There are a lot of great X-Men characters in all of the Fox versions of the *X-Men* films. And there are a lot of great X-Men characters that have never gone on the big screen. So I think as we always try to do, as we did when we made the arrangement with Sony for *Spider-Man*, you'll probably see a mix of characters you've seen before and characters you've never seen before."

Feige also expressed excitement about the soap opera elements of the X-Men universe, drawing inspiration from the popular animated series *X-Men ’97*. "I think the success of *X-Men ’97

was really exciting for us to see people revisit and reconnect with that world," he continued. "And dare I say, the soap opera elements of that world, which is one of the things that’s so exciting to us about jumping into it finally in the MCU."

With the arrival of *Deadpool & Wolverine

on July 26th, the MCU is set to experience a massive shift as the mutant heroes finally join the fold. Feige's comments suggest a bold and exciting future for the X-Men, blending fan favourites with fresh faces, all while embracing the drama and intrigue that defines the mutant world.
