Marvel and Kith Unleash a Supervillain-Inspired 85th Anniversary Collection
Kith has joined forces with Marvel to celebrate the iconic comic book publisher's 85th anniversary, launching a captivating collection inspired by some of Marvel's most infamous supervillains. The collaboration spans apparel, accessories, home goods, and footwear, featuring a striking blend of vintage Marvel aesthetics and contemporary Kith design.
The apparel range boasts an array of stylish pieces, including coach jackets, classic T-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, and sweaters, each showcasing reimagined Marvel graphics and logos. Completing the look, the collection offers a selection of headwear and pin sets. For those seeking to bring a touch of Marvel to their home, Kith has curated a range of exclusive items, including a Modernica chair, a Haydenshapes Silver Surfer surfboard, custom posters, wall clocks, and rugs.
The collection's footwear component features a collaboration between Ronnie Fieg and ASICS, a partnership that has produced numerous successful projects. This time, the duo have designed five custom ASICS models, each inspired by a distinct Marvel supervillain.
The Spider-Man and Venom GT-2160 duo is sold as a special double-box set. The Spider-Man model showcases the hero's iconic red and blue colours in a gradient print on the mesh upper, with premium leather ASICS Tiger Stripes featuring blue hues. The Venom model adopts a darker aesthetic, primarily black with accents of blue, and is crafted from mesh with synthetic leather overlays. Both shoes boast asymmetrically branded heel badges, with the Marvel logo on the left and the Fieg logo on the right, as well as custom-printed insoles displaying character artwork.
The Green Goblin GT-2160 features a vibrant combination of dark greens, bright yellows, grey, and black accents on the mesh upper. The shoe carries the collaborative Kith for Marvel logo on the tongue and Fieg branding on the heel, with custom-printed insoles showcasing the Green Goblin.
The Silver Surfer GEL-Kayano 14 pays homage to the character's metallic aesthetic with a silver upper, complemented by blue accents on the midsole and outsole. Similar to the other models, it bears the Kith for Marvel logo on the tongue and Fieg branding on the heel, and features custom-printed insoles displaying the Silver Surfer.
The Magneto GEL-1130 stands out as the sole 1130 model in the collection, showcasing a mesh upper with leather overlays and distinct co-branding, with a Kith logo on the eyestay and sockliner. The shoe features a special Marvel label on the heel and custom-printed insoles depicting Magneto.
Further enriching the collection, Marvel and Kith are releasing a third installment of their collaborative comic book. The all-new comic book features iconic Marvel villains facing a mysterious threat, expanding upon the storyline established in previous collaborations. Each comic book is gifted to purchasers of the Marvel | Kith for ASICS custom footwear and features collaborative artwork of the character that inspired the shoe, with varying levels of rarity. In a groundbreaking move, some comics will be officially authenticated by PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator), marking the first time the company has authenticated comics.
Kith and Marvel have also partnered with luxury home brand Modernica to create a custom version of their popular Fiberglass Shell Chair. This bespoke chair showcases wraparound archival Marvel artwork, a co-branded 'Kith Universe' logo, and a Kith Home plaque on the underside.
Rounding out the collection, Kith and Marvel have teamed up with renowned surfboard brand Haydenshapes to create a limited-edition, custom surfboard inspired by the iconic Silver Surfer.
