Maisie Smith Shuts Down Lorraine Host's Personal Probe

Former *Strictly Come Dancing

star Maisie Smith swiftly shut down a personal question from Lorraine presenter Ranvir Singh during a recent interview.

Smith and her fellow *War of the Worlds

castmate, Max George, were on the show to discuss their roles in the stage adaptation of the classic sci-fi tale. George explained that he portrays Nathaniel, a man who believes an alien invasion is actually the devil, while Smith plays his wife Beth, who tries to convince him otherwise.

"He thinks it's the devil," Smith elaborated. "And, me being the rational wife, am trying to convince him it's the Martians."

However, things took an unexpected turn when Singh posed a personal query to George: "Is she the rational one in real-life Max? Be honest."

After a brief pause, Smith swiftly intervened, declaring: "Can we skip that question? Moving on." George, with a chuckle, responded: "Nah, she's mental."

This incident comes after a similar awkward exchange on *Good Morning Britain

earlier this year. While promoting the same show, the pair were asked by host Ed Balls about their "practice" for their roles as a married couple.

"Did you practise in advance? To be married?" Balls inquired.

"To be married?!" Smith exclaimed, while George responded, "I mean, we live with each other and argue." Smith continued, "We spend enough time to probably know what it's like," before attempting to steer the conversation in another direction.

Despite these awkward encounters, Smith remains enthusiastic about her role in the upcoming arena tour of Jeff Wayne's *The War of the Worlds*. She took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing: "CANNOT wait for this. Heading to arenas all over the UK, we will be playing the iconic parts of Parson Nathaniel and Beth in the infamous production of Jeff Waynes 'The War Of The Worlds'."

The former *EastEnders

star has been giving fans sneak peeks behind the scenes of rehearsals, showcasing her impressive singing abilities and garnering praise from fans. One fan commented, "Fabulous! Never knew Maisie could sing like this!"

With her talent and unwavering confidence, Smith is sure to shine in this iconic production.
