MADEIN Set to Debut as Seven-Piece K-Pop Group in September

A new seven-member girl group, MADEIN, is set to make its debut on 3 September, marking the latest entry in the competitive K-pop landscape. The group, formed by 143 Entertainment, boasts a roster of experienced idols, including former Kep1er members Mashiro and Yeseo.

143 Entertainment confirmed the news on 14 August, revealing that MADEIN will release their debut EP titled "상승" ("Ascent") alongside the lead single "Uno." The agency has already introduced each member through individual profile pictures unveiled two weeks prior.

"Uno," meaning "one" in Spanish, symbolises the group's fresh start and their ambition to forge a new path together. The single promises to capture the essence of their individual journeys and aspirations.

The group's lineup is a mix of familiar faces and fresh talent. Mashiro, born in 1999, was a co-leader and vocalist in the popular girl group Kep1er, while Yeseo served as the group's maknae (youngest member) and vocalist.

Other members include MiU, who was the visual of LIMELIGHT, Suhye, LIMELIGHT's main vocalist, and Gaeun, the maknae of LIMELIGHT. The remaining two members, Serina and Nagomi, previously participated in Produce 101 Japan The Girls. In MADEIN, Nagomi takes on the role of maknae.

Adding to the anticipation surrounding their debut, MADEIN has partnered with Digital Masta, a renowned producer known for his work with artists like 4Minute and Lee Gikwang. This collaboration promises a unique sonic identity for the group, leaving fans eager to discover their musical direction.

The group's name, an abbreviation of "We Made in You," reflects the strong bond with their fanbase and acknowledges the crucial role they play in the group's formation. Each member possesses a deep understanding of the K-pop industry, built upon their individual experiences, which sets the stage for a promising future.

With their pre-debut activities generating considerable excitement, many believe MADEIN could reshape the landscape of fifth-generation K-pop. As they prepare to enter the spotlight, the group faces high expectations and the challenge of standing out in a crowded market. Only time will tell if they can achieve their ambitious goals and establish themselves as the next big thing in K-pop.
