Love Actually Star Martine McCutcheon Announces Separation After 18 Years
Martine McCutcheon, best known for her role in the beloved Christmas rom-com "Love Actually", has announced her separation from husband Jack McManus after 18 years together.
The 48-year-old actress revealed the news on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, 22 August, stating that "After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision."
McCutcheon, who married McManus in September 2012, emphasised that their priority remains the well-being of their nine-year-old son, Rafferty. "We are so very blessed and grateful for our beautiful son Rafferty, who's happiness and welfare has always been, and will continue to be, our number 1 priority," she wrote.
The actress also highlighted that they will continue to co-parent their son. "We both, of course, still cherish and look forward to being parents together to our wonderful boy for the rest of our lives," McCutcheon continued.
McCutcheon explained that the decision to separate "has evolved over a period of time." She acknowledged the need for privacy for their family during this transition. "We are still finding our new way forward as a family and kindly ask for some privacy at this time ... especially for our little boy," she stated. "Our love for Rafferty is something that will never waver or change and we obviously want to protect him and help him feel as safe and secure as possible."
In her heartfelt message, McCutcheon expressed her continued support for McManus. "I continue to send Jack all the love, luck and happiness for the next chapter of his life. Rafferty and I (as always) are rooting for you!" she concluded.
McCutcheon's announcement comes just a few months after the couple celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary in September 2023. In a post commemorating the occasion, McCutcheon fondly reminisced about their wedding in Lake Como and expressed her love for McManus.
Despite this news, the former couple have assured fans that their commitment to their son remains unwavering. They have requested privacy as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
