Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter on Fiery Row with "Bossy" Co-star Ahead of Edinburgh Fringe Reunion

Janet Street-Porter has revealed details of a heated on-screen disagreement with Christopher Biggins, which occurred back in 2020.

The outspoken Loose Women star, aged 77, spoke to the Sunday Mail about her upcoming appearance with the actor at the Edinburgh Fringe. The pair are set to appear together in "Baggage: Janet Street-Porter In Conversation With Christopher Biggins" on 25 August.

Street-Porter explained that she and Biggins have a long history, having shared the small screen on numerous occasions. However, their similar headstrong personalities sparked a heated argument during a Christmas special of Celebrity MasterChef.

"I haven't done a show in Edinburgh since 2003 – that's more than 20 years ago," she said. "I thought I would dip my toe back in the water by doing a one-nighter with Biggins and, who knows, it might inspire me to come back to the fringe."

The veteran journalist went on to describe the incident that led to the disagreement: "We are both really bossy and had a terrible row over a pork wellington. We've since been on Pointless together and given we are both talkers, I think it's going to be a good night."

During the fateful MasterChef episode, Street-Porter and Biggins were tasked with creating identical pork wellingtons. However, communication proved difficult, leading to frustration on Street-Porter's part.

"We got on fine until we had to do a round together," she explained. "We were both trying to be in charge, which led to some heated exchanges."

The disagreement arose when Biggins declared he would add "the lot" of herbs to the stuffing, prompting Street-Porter to disagree, stating it wasn't that simple. The tension escalated further when Biggins questioned whether Street-Porter was "getting the ham around," to which she retorted, "Don't nag. It's like b****y brain surgery."

Despite the heated exchange, both stars ultimately managed to complete their dishes, with Street-Porter emerging victorious with her seasonal pie and jam and damson pudding.

Despite the previous disagreement, Street-Porter remains optimistic about her Edinburgh Fringe appearance with Biggins. "I know Chris well," she said. "We've done a lot of TV together, and I think it's going to be a good night. We're both talkers, so it's bound to be entertaining."

The upcoming show promises to be a lively and insightful conversation between two prominent figures in British entertainment, providing audiences with an entertaining glimpse into their shared history and contrasting personalities.
