Loose Women Celebrates 25 Years with Andrea McLean's Return

Kaye Adams, a long-standing panellist on ITV's daytime chat show *Loose Women*, has revealed exciting news ahead of the programme's 25th anniversary. The show, which has become a staple of ITV's schedule, will mark its milestone birthday in September with a host of surprises, including the return of former anchor Andrea McLean.

During an appearance on James Martin's *Saturday Morning

on 10 August, Adams shared her early memories of the show, which began as a month-long pilot in September 1999. "It was myself, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore on the first programme," Adams recalled. "At the time, television executives were coming up with all sorts of odd programme ideas, but I thought, 'you know what, we might be onto something special here'."

The show's enduring success is evident in its recent history. Last week, *Loose Women

made history by welcoming its first guest panelist born in the same year as the show's inception: TikTok star GK Barry. This prompted Adams to point out that co-star Frankie Bridge is no longer the youngest on the team, much to the amusement of fellow panellists Denise Welch and Faye, who have been known to tease Bridge about her age.

McLean's return to the show, confirmed in May, comes four years after she announced her departure. The presenter, who spent over two decades on television, took a step back from the limelight to focus on her mindfulness app, This Girl Is On Fire, and her *Mastering Midlife

podcast with husband Nick Feeney. During her guest appearance on *Saturday Morning*, McLean announced her September return to *Loose Women*, prompting fellow presenter Christine Lampard to comment, "You've been such a fabric and part of the DNA of the show over all those years, so it's going to be a celebration, I think, of *Loose Women*... it will feel very special to be part of that."

*Loose Women

airs weekdays on ITV1 at 12.30pm and *James Martin's Saturday Morning* airs weekly on ITV1 at 9.30am.
