King's Guard Horse Bites Tourist in London

King's Guard Horse Bites Tourist in London

A tourist in London had a close call with one of King Charles III's ceremonial horses, the King's Guard. The incident, captured on video, occurred outside the Household Cavalry Museum, just over a mile from Buckingham Palace.

The video shows a group of tourists excitedly approaching a mounted King's Guard, eager to take photos with the majestic horse and its rider. However, as they get closer, the horse becomes agitated. Signs near the site warn visitors: "Beware: Horses May Kick or Bite. Don't touch the reins. Thank you."

One woman in the group walks quickly into frame to pose near the horse, seemingly unaware of the warning. As she does, the horse swats its head around and bites her hard just above her elbow. The woman screams in pain and rushes back to her tour group, visibly shaken.

Concerned bystanders quickly assess the situation. "She's still over there…she’s keeling over, look," one person says, worriedly. Others ask if she has a "really bad injury," and thankfully, someone responds, "She's getting treatment now."

"I thought she was going to pass out," the unseen camera person adds.

Moments earlier, a different tourist, unaware of the horse's growing agitation, gives it a thumbs up as she walks by. The horse again swats its head forward and appears to lightly bite at her wrist.

The video also reveals the horse swinging its head towards other tourists, including two people who attempted to pet it. The animal's agitation appears to be triggered by the sudden movements of the approaching tourists, making it nervous.

The Household Division, responsible for the King's Guard, and Buckingham Palace representatives have not yet commented on the incident.

This incident serves as a reminder that even though the King's Guard horses are beautiful and appear docile, they are still powerful animals. It's crucial to respect their space and heed the warning signs, especially when taking photos or interacting with them.
