Katie Price has vowed never to hit rock bottom again after opening up about her struggles with mental health in her new autobiography, "This Is Me: The High Life. The Dark Days. The FULL Story." The former glamour model revealed that her seventh memoir will detail the tumultuous journey she has endured over the past few years, including the "solid noise of negativity" she faced.
Price, known for her rollercoaster life, discussed her journey to recovery with Channel 5 News, attributing her progress to understanding her ADHD diagnosis. "Now I'm doing really, really good," she shared, explaining that understanding her condition has allowed her to better manage her reactions and triggers. "I've learned a lot about myself, a lot about mental health and obviously being diagnosed with the severe ADHD, learnt a lot about that, which I wish I knew years ago because certain situations that have happened in the past I just reacted how I thought, you know, I reacted."
Price candidly detailed how the relentless pressures of her career and past trauma culminated in a cascade of struggles: "You end up not dealing with the problems at the time and they build up, build up, build up and before you know it, it becomes noise in your head, and then you just can't cope with it, you think there's no light at the end of the tunnel and then that caused depression, then a breakdown, suicidal, ended up at the Priory, the psychiatric hospital twice."
Despite her setbacks, Price emphasized that she has learned to manage her mental health and is committed to preventing future breakdowns. "I'm only human at the end of the day, and it takes a toll on you, and in a way, I'm not glad that it's happened, but it's happened and I know that I would never ever hit rock bottom again, because now I know how to deal with issues."
Price's journey highlights the importance of seeking support and understanding mental health struggles. Her candidness may resonate with many who have endured similar challenges, offering hope and inspiration for seeking help and navigating personal difficulties.
