Josh Hartnett's Hollywood Love Story: From "Worst Movie Ever" to Married Life

Josh Hartnett has revealed the rather unconventional way he met his wife, Tamsin Egerton, during an interview with his former *O

co-star Julia Stiles for *Interview* magazine.

The 46-year-old actor, known for his roles in films like *Pearl Harbor

and *Black Hawk Down*, described their meeting as "the most Hollywood way imaginable." The couple initially met on the set of "the worst movie either of us have ever made," which Hartnett declined to name. "It just got lost in post-production," he explained.

Despite their initial romantic commitments, their connection was undeniable. "We were shooting here in London and both had significant others, and both realized that wasn’t going to work because we really liked each other," Hartnett shared.

Their respective relationships ended, and soon after filming wrapped, Hartnett and Egerton began dating. However, their romance was initially long-distance, with Hartnett based in New York and Egerton in London.

"Then she came out to the States and we went on a long road trip where she met my parents and it kept going," Hartnett recounted. Their relationship quickly deepened, leading to cohabitation and ultimately, the arrival of their first child. "She got pregnant and then we got married," he said simply.

Hartnett and Egerton met on the set of the 2013 film *The Lovers

and now share four children. Despite their successful acting careers, the couple have kept their relationship relatively private. Their marriage was only confirmed in March 2022, after a secret wedding in London the previous November.

Recently, while promoting his new film *Trap

with director M. Night Shyamalan, Hartnett offered some insight into the secret to his enduring marriage.

"I think you have to give more than you feel you receive," he advised. "That's the biggest thing. If everybody feels like they're giving about 80 percent to the relationship and the other person's only giving 20, then you're probably both giving 50."

He continued, "You have to really give as much as you can because innately, as human beings we're a little bit selfish. We think we see all the good things that we do, but we don't really notice necessarily all the good things that the other person's doing all the time."

*Trap

is currently in cinemas.
