Joe Sugg's Honest Dating Show

Joe Sugg's Honest Dating Show

Joe Sugg, known for his stint on "Strictly Come Dancing," has launched a new dating show titled "Date Me At My Worst." This unique show, produced in collaboration with the BBC, is described as the "world's most honest dating show," offering a fresh perspective on modern dating.

"Date Me At My Worst" challenges the traditional dating format by encouraging singles to showcase their best and worst qualities during group dates. The concept is inspired by the common experience of discovering someone's true nature after the initial honeymoon phase has faded.

"Have you ever dated someone only to discover 6 months later that they’re not the person you thought they were?" asks the show's logline. "What if you could find out all the bad bits up top? Wouldn't that save time and help two singles decide if they were really right for each other long-term?"

Sugg, who produced the show through his company Final Straw Productions, emphasizes the show's commitment to transparency and authenticity. "It's the world's most honest dating show, which sets out to test that if you like somebody at their worst then maybe you'll love them at their best,” he explains.

"Date Me At My Worst" is not just a dating show but also a testament to the evolving landscape of content creation. Sugg highlights the show's innovative approach: "We're really excited about this space, testing out formatted ideas online to get instant feedback from the audience to help shape formats into the best they can be." He sees it as a collaborative process that empowers creators and discovers emerging talent.

The show's host, Max Balegde, also expresses his enthusiasm for the project: "It was a great experience working with BBC Studios, Joe and Final Straw Productions. I loved the format, and I am so looking forward to the show coming to life."

The first episode of "Date Me At My Worst" is now available on YouTube, with subsequent episodes premiering every Sunday.

While "Date Me At My Worst" explores a new take on dating, fans can look forward to the return of "Strictly Come Dancing" later this year on BBC One. The companion show, "Strictly: It Takes Two," continues to entertain audiences on weeknights on BBC Two, with both shows available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
