Tekken 8, launched earlier this year to widespread acclaim, continues to receive updates, captivating audiences at Evo 2024, the largest tournament for the fighting game.

In a dramatic reveal right before the Tekken 8 finals, Bandai Namco unveiled Heihachi Mishima as the third DLC character for the game, sending shockwaves through the community.

Despite being seemingly thrown into a volcano at the end of Tekken 7, and director Katsuhiro Harada stating last year that Heihachi was "completely dead," the patriarch of the Mishima family has defied the odds and emerged unscathed from his fiery demise.

While the trailer doesn't showcase Heihachi in action during a match, it does offer glimpses of his signature moves, including the Double Palm, Uppercut, and Wind God Fist.

Heihachi's return signifies his central role in Tekken 8's first story mode expansion. The narrative focuses on "Tekken Monks" who are targeting remnants of the Mishima Zaibatsu, and Heihachi's presence suggests he may be leading this group.

The trailer also features Eddy Gordo and Lidia Sobieska, with Reina hinting that the time for their involvement in the story is approaching.

Heihachi is shown walking away from a fiery landscape, sporting the same insignia as the Tekken Monks. Though the location isn't the volcano from Tekken 7, his association with the Monks suggests a leadership position within their ranks.

While no release date has been announced, Heihachi is expected to arrive in Fall 2024, followed by a final DLC character in the Winter.

Lidia Sobieska, the second DLC character, is slated for release tomorrow, July 22, in early access for Year 1 Pass holders. She will become available for individual purchase on July 25, along with a new update that includes Photo Mode and a beach stage, accessible to all Tekken 8 players.

You can witness Heihachi's resurrection in the official trailer below.
