Harry's Claims of Queen's Support Spark Palace Discontent

Prince Harry's recent comments about the late Queen Elizabeth's support for his legal battles have reportedly irked courtiers at Buckingham Palace, according to a royal expert.

While Harry has frequently spoken of his close bond with his grandmother, mentioning it in a US television interview prior to her death, his recent remarks about her backing his legal actions have drawn criticism. In a recent interview, Harry stated, "We had many conversations before she passed, and this is very much something that she supported. She knew how much this meant to me and she's very much up there saying 'see this through to the end'."

However, these pronouncements have left courtiers "unimpressed," as reported by The Daily Mail, citing royal expert Richard Eden. Eden revealed in his column that a courtier expressed displeasure with Harry's "tasteless" attempt to leverage his grandmother's legacy in support of his ongoing legal battles.

The courtier questioned the appropriateness of Harry's claims, highlighting the fact that only his perspective on the alleged conversations with the late Queen was available. The undisclosed nature of these interactions casts a shadow on the validity of Harry's assertions.

Eden further suggests that many might find Harry's use of the Queen's memory "distasteful," particularly given his disruptive behaviour during her final years. The Sussexes' controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they accused members of the Royal Family of racism, aired while Prince Philip was hospitalised with a terminal illness. His passing followed just four weeks later.

This latest controversy adds to the ongoing tension between Prince Harry and the Royal Family. While Harry has insisted on honouring his grandmother's legacy, his recent statements have been met with disapproval from palace insiders, raising further questions about the future of his relationship with the institution.
