Gordon Ramsay, a name synonymous with fiery passion and culinary expertise, has become a global phenomenon. The Michelin guide, a prestigious international authority on fine dining, has been awarding restaurants stars since 1926, signifying unparalleled excellence in cuisine. Anonymous Michelin inspectors, known as "Inspectors," rigorously evaluate restaurants based solely on the food. A single star is awarded for consistently high-quality dishes with distinct flavours. Two stars indicate a chef's evident talent, showcasing expertly crafted and inspired cuisine. The highest accolade, three stars, is reserved for chefs at the peak of their profession, whose cooking is elevated to an art form.

Gordon Ramsay's flagship restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, holds the coveted three-star distinction, while Le Pressoir d'Argent has earned two. His other establishments, Petrus by Gordon Ramsay, Restaurant 1890, and Au Trianon, each boast one Michelin star.

Ramsay's journey to culinary stardom began in Scotland, where he studied hotel management before pursuing his passion for cooking. He trained under culinary titans like Marco Pierre White, Joël Robuchon, and Guy Savoy, honing his skills and developing his unique style. In 1993, he became head chef at London's Aubergine, earning two Michelin stars by 1996. His eponymous restaurant, opened in 1998, reached the pinnacle of culinary success by 2001, receiving three Michelin stars.

The following year, Petrus opened its doors and quickly earned two stars within just seven months. Ramsay's empire continued to expand throughout the following decade, establishing a string of Michelin-starred restaurants across London. In 2001, he began expanding his reach beyond the UK, opening Verre in Dubai, followed by Gordon Ramsay at the London in New York City. Today, his restaurant group boasts locations across the UK, the United States (including five in Las Vegas alone), as well as Shanghai, South Korea, Malaysia, France, Dubai, Singapore, and Thailand.

Ramsay places immense value on the Michelin star system, comparing it to the prestigious Emmy, Oscar, and Bafta awards. He firmly believes the accolade reflects not only his talent but also the dedication of his entire team. "The stars are not just for the chef but also for the staff who are equally as focused as the owner," he explained to The Straits Times.
