Gloria Hunniford Mourns Loss of Husband Stephen Way

Veteran broadcaster Gloria Hunniford has announced the passing of her husband of over 20 years, Stephen Way. The 84-year-old TV personality, known for her roles on programmes like *Loose Women

and *Rip Off Britain*, married the businessman in 1998. In a statement, she described Way's death as leaving "the most enormous void, not only in my life".

The family confirmed Way, who was 85, passed away on Tuesday 13th August after a long battle with illness. They praised his tenacity and positive spirit throughout his fight.

"Stephen was a gentleman and a giant of a man," Hunniford said, reflecting on her late husband. "He was incredibly kind, generous, and caring, with a delightfully quirky sense of humour that remained till the end."

She spoke fondly of their 25-year marriage, filled with "beautiful and exciting things" that she will forever cherish. Hunniford described the shock and profound sadness she feels at this time, adding that Way will be missed "at every turn."

Way's death comes after the devastating loss of their daughter, Caron Keating, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2004. Hunniford established the Caron Keating Foundation in her memory, which raises funds and awareness for cancer charities.

Hunniford's dedication to cancer charities was recognised in 2017 when she was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours. Her television career spans decades, starting in her native Northern Ireland before moving to London to work on the game show *We Love TV

and hosting a Radio 2 programme for over a decade.

She has become a familiar face in British households through her appearances on numerous programmes including *This Morning*, *The Travelling Picture Show*, and *Food: Truth Or Scare*. Hunniford also took part in *Strictly Come Dancing

in 2005 and *The Masked Singer* in 2022.

Gloria Hunniford's heartfelt words about her late husband offer a glimpse into the love and respect they shared. As she navigates this difficult period, her legacy of work in the entertainment world and her commitment to cancer charities stand as a testament to her enduring spirit.
