Gladiator Fire Joins Strictly Come Dancing Line-Up!
Former Olympian and TV personality Montell Douglas, better known as Fire from the rebooted Gladiators, is the latest star confirmed for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
This week has seen a flurry of announcements for the beloved dance competition, with celebrities such as JB Gill, Toyah Willcox, Pete Wicks, and Shayne Ward all set to grace the ballroom floor. Now, Fire joins the roster, bringing her athleticism and competitive spirit to the dancefloor.
Montell is no stranger to pushing boundaries, having competed as an Olympic Bobsledder and Team GB Sprinter, winning Commonwealth Gold in the 4x100m relay race in 2010. In 2022, she made history by becoming the first UK female to compete in both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, representing Team GB in the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Speaking about joining Strictly, Montell said: "Strictly, ARE YOU READY? Fire is here to light up the Ballroom. Wow, I am so honoured to have been asked to do the show. It is such an amazing thing to be a part of and I canât wait to get started. Hopefully, a few of my Gladiator moves will come in handy with the Tango or Paso Doble!"
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to our screens next month, with the exact date still under wraps. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the BBC will be reshowing the very first episode of the show in the lead-up to the new series.

The news of Fire joining Strictly comes in the same week as the announcement of the line-up for Celebrity Gladiators, which will feature Rob Beckett, Joel Dommett, Ellie Taylor, and Louise Minchin.
