Gable's Singles Gold Quest: "One Piece of the Puzzle Left to Fill In"

Chad Gable, a stalwart of the WWE tag team division with four championship reigns to his name, is still hungry for singles glory. While he came close during his feuds with Gunther and Sami Zayn, a singles title has remained elusive, leaving him with a sense of disappointment.

In a recent interview on *Insight With Chris Van Vliet*, Gable candidly discussed his pursuit of singles gold, expressing frustration at not securing a championship during his intense rivalry with Zayn. "I feel like I am also disappointed in the fact that I didn’t grab one during that whole run [against Sami Zayn]," he said. "Because I also don’t want to give the fans the impression that like, well he’s great, but he’s also just the guy that can’t win the big one, where I know I am and I know I can. But what this is doing is I think for me building that first one to mean almost as much as maybe it’s ever meant for anybody."

Despite falling short of victory, Gable acknowledges the positive impact his feud with Gunther had on his career. He also recognises the achievements he and Zayn accomplished during their brief but intense rivalry. However, he believes a singles title victory is the missing piece of the puzzle.

"I’ve come so close so many times," Gable continued. "The Gunther stuff, what it did for my career, what Gunther did for my career can’t be overstated. I have him to thank for so much the way he elevated me. Then moving on to the stuff with Sami, from a storytelling perspective alongside the in-ring perspective, we got so much accomplished in such a short amount of time. I feel like for both of us that it left just the right amount on the table for me as a singles guy to be like he did so much there, he got so much done, but he didn’t win the championship. So we’ve got one piece of the puzzle left to fill in.”

Despite not claiming the Intercontinental Championship, Gable remains driven to achieve his goal. He even considers his defeat to Zayn a positive, as it allowed them to tell a compelling story without a title change. This, he believes, opens up the opportunity for him to capture the elusive singles title when the moment truly "needs" it.

Currently, Gable has joined forces with the Creed Brothers to form American Made, engaging in a feud with the Wyatt Sicks. While he continues to fight for tag team success, his pursuit of singles gold remains undeterred. It appears Gable is determined to prove that he is not just "the guy that can't win the big one", and his journey for singles glory is far from over.
