Full Circle Moment: Ace Steel Reflects on Producing Former WWE Stars in TNA

Veteran wrestling producer Ace Steel is experiencing a "full circle" moment in his career, having the opportunity to guide up-and-coming stars in TNA, including two former WWE talents who are now making waves in the wrestling world.

Steel, who has a wealth of experience in the industry, including time as a producer for WWE, is enjoying his current role in TNA, where he is helping to develop the next generation of wrestlers. He is particularly impressed with two performers: Mustafa Ali and Joe Hendry.

Speaking to Irish Wrestling & Entertainment, Steel described Ali as a "full circle" moment, having seen him cut his teeth on the Chicago independent scene during his own departure from wrestling. Steel explained, "I'm cutting my chops more and more as a producer... They give me an opportunity to work with different talents... I work with a guy like Mustafa Ali, who, when I was dipping out of wrestling, period, he's cutting his teeth on the Chicago independents. So, it's a little full circle."

Steel also praised Hendry, stating, "Same with Joe Hendry. Joe Hendry and I were slammed together, and it's a great union... for working together. Lo and behold... this man has just finally hit his stride and caught steam... He's one of the most over guys that exist at this moment."

Ali, who requested his release from WWE in 2022, has enjoyed a surge in success since leaving the company. His "In Ali We Trust" campaign in TNA has earned him a 148-day reign as X-Division Champion, a second title run with the DREAMWAVE Alternative Championship, and several appearances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).

Hendry, despite a near miss in the TNA World Championship match at Slammiversary last month, is currently aiming for the NXT Championship. After securing victory in a Triple Threat match against Pete Dunne and Wes Lee, he will face Ethan Page at No Mercy on September 1st for the prestigious title.

Steel's observations underscore the evolving landscape of the wrestling industry, where opportunities for talent development are expanding beyond the confines of traditional organisations. As TNA and WWE NXT forge a partnership, stars from both promotions are gaining wider exposure, allowing them to showcase their skills and potentially reach new heights. With experienced figures like Ace Steel at the helm, the future looks bright for these up-and-coming wrestlers, who are demonstrating the potential to become the next generation of wrestling icons.
