From Pop Star to Farmer: Hannah Spearritt's Costa Rican Dream

Hannah Spearritt, the former S Club 7 star, is hoping to leave her recent misfortunes behind and embrace a simpler life in Costa Rica. The singer, who once commanded packed stadiums and earned £150,000 annually, is now set to trade her pop star lifestyle for farming.

Spearritt’s journey to this decision started with a life-changing trip to Costa Rica in 2018. Inspired by the experience, she and her partner, Adam Thomas, decided to open Earth & Fire café in Twickenham, South West London, in 2022.

However, the café faced challenges and never fully opened its doors. A source close to Spearritt revealed that the 43-year-old singer is now selling the business amidst rising costs, calling it the latest in a series of setbacks.

Spearritt and Thomas, who have two young daughters, had previously expressed their desire to create a community in Central America.

“That’s the dream, to move to Costa Rica and buy some land or a farm and live the simple life with the girls,” Spearritt shared.

The past year has been particularly difficult for Spearritt. The family faced financial struggles, even having to stay in an office after being quoted a “crazy” £6,000 upfront for a short-term rental. The tragic death of her former bandmate and ex-boyfriend, Paul Cattermole, in April 2023, added to her grief.

Furthermore, Spearritt sought rehabilitation for a painkiller addiction following botched breast implant surgery.

Spearritt's spokesperson has confirmed that the Twickenham café is indeed for sale, suggesting that her move to Costa Rica is more than just a dream but a concrete plan.

This transition marks a significant chapter in Spearritt's life, as she seeks to rebuild and find solace in a new environment. While her pop star days may be behind her, her story is far from over. As she embarks on this new journey, fans can only hope that the Costa Rican sun will shine on her and bring her the peace and happiness she deserves.
