Frank Lampard is 'Like the Son My Mum and Dad Never Had': Christine Opens Up About Family Life
Christine Lampard, the Irish presenter and wife of former football star Frank Lampard, has revealed the special bond her husband shares with her family. In an interview with Women & Home, Christine shared that Frank is "like the son my mum and dad never had."
"I love the relationship Frank has with my family," Christine said, explaining that her husband loves being doted on by her parents, Frederick and Mina. "If I'm working or I'm away, he'll happily sit on the sofa and get spoiled the same way I do, and he loves it."
Christine, who is a panellist on the popular British daytime show Loose Women, also acknowledged that life with Frank has taken a different turn since they welcomed their two children, Patricia (5) and Freddie (3).
Despite the hectic schedule of raising two young children, Christine emphasizes the importance of prioritizing time for themselves as a couple. "Frank and I always make time for each other, which feels really special. We love getting dressed up, going somewhere nice and having a proper laugh," she said. "I still get excited about doing that."
The couple regularly enjoys dinner dates, but Christine reveals she prefers to be back home by a decent hour, knowing the next day will likely bring the early morning calls of work and children. "I'm just as happy going out with Frank as I am going out with a gang of girls. I like a sneaky lunch so I can be back early and avoid a hangover."
The interview delves into Christine's insight into the grief Frank still experiences over the loss of his mother, Patricia, who passed away in 2008. "There are still moments where losing his mum takes Frank's breath away, and he can't quite believe it's been so long," Christine shared.
She also revealed the emotional significance behind naming their daughter Patricia, saying, "It was a very emotional day when I asked Frank 'Why don't we call our daughter Patricia?' I think he was overwhelmed. I look at her now and she's nothing else but Patricia."
