Fortnite Festival: Karol G Brings the Beats & Quality of Life Updates

Epic Games has announced the arrival of Fortnite Festival Season 5, featuring Colombian pop and reggaeton star Karol G as the headliner. The new season kicks off this weekend, bringing with it a host of new content and much-requested features for the popular music-themed game mode.

Following the trend set by previous Festival seasons, Karol G will be represented by two unique skins available for purchase. The "Bichota Season" Karol G skin is available as part of the new Season 5 Festival Pass, while a separate Karol G skin will be offered through the in-game Item Shop. Alongside these skins, players can expect a selection of instruments, jam tracks, emotes, and other cosmetic items themed around the Colombian artist.

The new Festival Pass, priced at 1800 V-Bucks, boasts both free and paid tiers. Purchasing the pass immediately grants access to the "Bichota Season" Karol G skin. Completing the pass unlocks a range of Karol G-themed rewards, including a mic stand, a guitar, and four jam tracks: "Qlona" by Karol G, "My Oh My" by Ava Max, "The Nights" by Avicii, and "Take Over Control" by Afrojack and Eva Simons. The free tier of the pass includes three jam tracks by Epic Games, an emote, an aura, and a coveted keytar that unlocks at the end of the pass.

For those seeking even more Karol G-themed content, the "Bonita Jams" bundle is available in the Item Shop. This bundle includes two jam tracks and two emotes based on her popular songs "Cairo" and "OKI DOKI". Starting on August 22, players can snag the "Karol G" bundle, which features a different Karol G skin, a mic stand, back bling, wrap, and the "Provenza" jam track. All Karol G-themed items will remain available in the Item Shop until the end of Season 5.

Mirroring the successful Metallica concert experience from previous seasons, a Karol G concert event will be held during the second weekend of Season 5. From August 23rd to 26th, players can enjoy "Karol G MSB Fortnite", a five-song concert experience. Players who complete the concert will receive the striking "Bichota Four-String Bass" for free.

Season 5 also brings much-anticipated quality-of-life improvements. Following player feedback, the much-missed "restart song" button has been reintroduced to the Main Stage. This feature allows players to restart their chosen song at any point, eliminating the need to navigate back to the song list after a mistake.

Furthermore, the game's jam track organisation system has been overhauled. Archiving a jam track in the locker will now remove it from both the emote wheel and the Main Stage song picker, helping players manage their song libraries more effectively.

With a fresh soundtrack, new cosmetic items, and a host of user-friendly updates, Fortnite Festival Season 5 promises a vibrant and engaging experience for players of all musical tastes.
