Football Fever Takes Over Sunday Brunch

Tim Lovejoy's football obsession dominated the latest episode of "Sunday Brunch," leaving viewers frustrated and calling his enthusiasm "creepy."

With England facing Spain in the Euro 2024 final, the show embraced a full-fledged football theme. The opening credits featured cheering crowds and English flags, setting the tone for an episode dedicated to the big match.

Lovejoy, sporting a football shirt, kicked off the show with an enthusiastic introduction, "Welcome to Sunday Brunch, we are live, it's England playing today, that's why I'm wearing a football shirt." He went on to highlight the importance of the game and emphasized the show's special focus on the Euro 2024 final.

Throughout the episode, Lovejoy peppered the conversation with football-related questions, asking guests for score predictions and their level of excitement for the match. Actor Ryan Sampson jokingly commented, "I've been a massive football fan, going on two-and-a-half-weeks now." Iconic football songs blared before and after ad breaks, with Lovejoy and co-host Simon Rimmer dancing around with spoons.

While the pair seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the football-themed festivities, viewers were less than thrilled. On X, formerly Twitter, disgruntled viewers voiced their displeasure.

"Shut the f

"When you’re a guest on Sunday Brunch on Euro 2024 final day and Lovejoy won’t talk about owt else," lamented one viewer.

Several viewers even went as far as to label Lovejoy's enthusiasm "creepy." "I mean I love football but L***’s literal obsession with it is borderline creepy," wrote one viewer. "You are there to do a magazine show. Not football focus or MOTD."

The sentiment was echoed by others, with one viewer simply stating, "Enough with the b* football."

The Euro 2024 final is fast approaching, with England set to face Spain in a highly anticipated match. It remains to be seen who will claim victory, but one thing is certain – Tim Lovejoy's football fever has definitely left a mark on the "Sunday Brunch" viewers.
