Foodtopia: The Sausage Party is Back!

The beloved R-rated animated film "Sausage Party" is back with a spinoff sequel series, "Sausage Party: Foodtopia," now streaming on Prime Video. Featuring the entire original cast reprising their roles, this series takes the food-filled mayhem to a new level.

Almost eight years after the original film's release, which saw a group of food products fleeing their grocery store fate, the series picks up with the survivors attempting to create their own utopian society. This time around, the focus is on building a community where perishables can live freely, regardless of their moldy status.

Here's a look at the main characters and the voice actors bringing them to life:

Seth Rogen as Frank:
Rogen returns as the rebellious sausage, Frank, who leads the charge to create Foodtopia. After escaping the grocery store, Frank is determined to establish a haven for food items, where they can live unburdened by the fear of being consumed. Rogen, known for his comedic roles in films like "Superbad," "Knocked Up," and "Pineapple Express," also serves as an executive producer and co-wrote the first episode of "Foodtopia."

Kristen Wiig as Brenda Bunson: Wiig plays Frank's hot dog bun partner, Brenda, who stands by his side as they build their utopian community. Wiig, a comedy legend with a resume that includes "Saturday Night Live," "Bridesmaids," and "Wonder Woman 1984," brings her signature blend of humor and heart to Brenda's character.

Michael Cera as Barry: Cera returns as the slightly deformed hot dog, Barry. In "Foodtopia," Barry is torn between loyalty to Frank and his own personal mission to rescue missing food items. Cera, known for his roles in "Superbad," "Juno," and "Arrested Development," brings his trademark awkward charm to Barry's character.

David Krumholtz as Kareem Abdul Lavash: Krumholtz reprises his role as the pita bread, Kareem, who was once Sammy Bagel Jr.'s arch-nemesis. However, the two formed an unlikely friendship during the food-human war. Kareem now exists as a memory in Sammy's mind as he grapples with the tragic loss of his friend. Krumholtz, known for his roles in "Numbers," "Lousy Carter," and "The Santa Clause," brings a sense of gravitas to Kareem's character.

Edward Norton as Sammy Bagel Jr.: Norton returns as the bagel, Sammy, still reeling from the loss of Kareem. He uses edible concubines as a way to cope with his PTSD, showcasing a new side to his character. Norton, known for his roles in "Fight Club," "American History X," and "The Incredible Hulk," brings a nuanced performance to Sammy's emotional turmoil.

Will Forte as Jack: Forte joins the cast as Jack, a human under Barry's control. Jack becomes Barry's source of information on human life and behavior, providing insights into their world, including how they handle weather challenges. Forte, known for his roles in "The Last Man on Earth," "That's My Boy," and "Strays," brings his unique comedic style to Jack's character.

Sam Richardson as Julius: Richardson introduces a new character, Julius, a self-absorbed orange. Uninterested in the food-human war or the well-being of others, Julius only cares about his own success in Foodtopia. Richardson, known for his work in "Veep," "Detroiters," and "The Afterparty," brings a hilarious sense of selfishness to Julius' character.

With its original cast and irreverent humor, "Sausage Party: Foodtopia" is sure to keep audiences entertained, offering a humorous and poignant exploration of food, friendship, and the search for a better world.
