Controversial streamer Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm has re-emerged on social media, posting a cryptic photo just over a month after admitting to sending inappropriate messages to a minor on Twitch. The incident, which came to light in June 2024, led to the streamer's removal from several brand partnerships, the demonetization of his YouTube videos, and the refunding of in-game skins purchased by players of the online shooter *Rogue Company*.
Beahm's return to social media comes after a period of self-imposed "extended vacation" following his admission on X (formerly Twitter) that his 2020 ban from Twitch was due to "whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017."
His recent post on X features a chess board with pieces on his side and checkers on the viewer's side. Beahm's accompanying comments suggest he has been engaging in chess while another person, whose identity remains unclear, plays checkers. He has also responded to several replies to the image with cryptic and sometimes contentious messages.
The timing of Beahm's return coincides with a recent *Bloomberg
report detailing how he "almost derailed" the launch of Midnight Society's upcoming online shooter, *Deadrop*. Beahm was brought onto the project to leverage his 4.5 million YouTube subscribers and his expertise in first-person shooters, having previously worked at *Call of Duty* studio Sledgehammer Games. However, following the confirmation of the allegations against him, Midnight Society parted ways with Beahm, citing a conflict with their core values.
It remains unclear what Beahm's intentions are with his recent post. It could be a simple declaration of his return to social media and streaming, or it may signal a larger announcement. The streamer's future in the gaming industry, however, appears uncertain in the wake of the recent scandal.
