Democratic National Convention: Full Speaker List for Opening Day in Chicago

The 2024 Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago this week, with a star-studded lineup of speakers set to take the stage on Monday. The first day of the convention, themed "For the People", promises a mix of high-profile political figures, labour leaders, and ordinary citizens sharing their stories.

The convention, taking place at the United Center from Monday 19th August to Thursday 22nd August, will feature "main programming" each evening, starting at 5:15pm on Monday and 6pm from Tuesday onwards.

Here's a breakdown of the speakers scheduled for Day 1:

NBC Chicago will provide a live feed of the speeches each day through Thursday on their website and app. NBC 5 will also carry NBC News' live primetime event coverage, featuring the evenings' highlighted keynote speakers, interviews with prominent politicians and undecided voters, along with a look ahead to the November presidential election. The primetime DNC coverage will air live from the United Center at 9pm on Monday.

Themes of the Convention:

The overarching theme for the convention will be “For the People, For Our Future,” focusing on the achievements of the Biden Administration and its vision for the future. Each day will have a specific theme:
