Deadpool & Wolverine: New Trailer Drops, Lady Deadpool's Identity Remains a Mystery

With just ten days until its theatrical release, Shawn Levy's highly anticipated "Deadpool & Wolverine" has unveiled a fresh trailer and TV spot. The new footage, set to the iconic "Hey Mickey" by Toni Basil, offers glimpses of the film's action-packed world and introduces a mysterious new character: Lady Deadpool.

The trailer opens with a tantalizing shot of Lady Deadpool's red boots and the ends of her blonde hair, peeking out from beneath her signature belt. Speculation has run rampant regarding her identity, with many fans guessing that Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' wife, could be behind the mask. Others are holding out hope for Taylor Swift to make a cameo as the beloved X-Men character, Dazzler.

The spot also features quick cuts of the beloved "Cowboy Deadpool" and reveals a new addition to Wade's team – a googly-eyed dog who seems to have become Wolverine's furry companion.

The film, co-written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Ryan Reynolds, and Shawn Levy, marks a significant milestone as the third installment in the "Deadpool" franchise, arriving six years after the release of "Deadpool 2" (2018). The trailer also showcases appearances from Matthew McFadyen, Emma Corrin, and other notable actors, hinting at the expansive cast and numerous cameos Levy has promised in the film.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige discussed the emotional depth of the film, emphasizing its heartfelt themes despite its R-rating.

"I think people can tell from the trailer and from the press tour so far, yes, it's R-rated, yes there's some language and blood, but the film is incredibly emotional. I keep calling it the most wholesome R-rated film that anybody can ever see," he said. "It really is a celebration of friendship and family and of found family. I don't want to overdo it, but for all the R-rated raunchiness that gets attention, when people see the movie, it's going to be about how heartfelt it is – in my opinion, much more than the first two 'Deadpool' films."

"Deadpool & Wolverine" is set to hit theaters on July 26th, promising a wild ride full of action, humor, and surprisingly touching moments that will appeal to fans of the franchise and newcomers alike.
