Deadpool & Wolverine: A Duo's Rise to Fame

Get ready for a summer blockbuster as Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reunite for "Deadpool & Wolverine," hitting theaters on July 26th. This highly anticipated film sees the two iconic Marvel heroes battling a common enemy, potentially even saving or expanding the multiverse.

The duo recently sat down with The New York Times to discuss their journey to fame and how the Marvel franchise shaped their careers. Reynolds, who found mainstream success at 37 with "Deadpool," expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to enjoy the pop culture phenomenon. He admitted, "I was an actor who was semi-well-known... I’m really grateful because I knew exactly how to enjoy it."

Jackman, known for his iconic role as Wolverine, shared a hilarious anecdote from 1999 when he first landed the part. He was stopped at customs with incorrect paperwork and faced deportation. When the customs officer learned Jackman was the newly cast Wolverine, his demeanor changed dramatically. "I told the guy behind the counter, who had been so cold, and he goes, 'Sorry, I don’t understand. You mean you’re an animator?' And I said, 'No. It’s a normal, live-action.' He goes, 'Hang on, you’re Wolverine in live action?' And then I was doing photos, autographs, and every bit of paperwork just got stamped.”

The success of "Deadpool & Wolverine" is already evident. Fans are eagerly anticipating the film, making it one of this summer's most anticipated releases. Tickets are now on sale for the July 26th premiere, so don't miss your chance to see these legendary heroes face off on the big screen.
