Dead by Daylight: 2024 Roadmap Unveils Killer Tweaks & Quality-of-Life Updates

Fans of the popular asymmetrical horror game, Dead by Daylight, are in for a treat as Behaviour Interactive has unveiled its roadmap for the remainder of 2024. The comprehensive plan, outlining updates through November, promises a busy period for the game's developers and players alike.

August is set to be the busiest month of the year, with ten updates planned, including crucial quality-of-life improvements, perk adjustments, and significant changes to killer abilities. One notable quality-of-life improvement is the enhanced visibility of scratch marks, making it easier for players with colour blindness to track their targets.

Killers are also in for some adjustments this August. The Doctor, Nemesis, and Dredge will all receive tweaks to their abilities, potentially enhancing their power or reducing their effectiveness. Alongside these killer adjustments, five perks – Dance With Me, Deception, Diversion, Chemical Trap, and Mirrored Illusion – will be tweaked to improve game balance.

September and October continue the trend of updates, with further killer and perk balancing taking centre stage. The focus during this period is on making gameplay fairer for both survivors and killers. Killers such as The Skull Merchant, The Unknown, The Hillbilly, and The Twins are set to receive balance updates, alongside perks like Leverage, Hex: Crowd Control, Distortion, and Blood Rush.

Finally, November brings major quality-of-life enhancements to the Pharmacy, Scene Partner, Weave Attunement, and Shadowborn. While perk tweaks are not on the agenda for this month, The Cenobite and The Plague will receive balancing adjustments.

2024 has already been a landmark year for Dead by Daylight, with the introduction of a 2v8 game mode, cross-progression functionality, and a crossover event featuring Lara Croft. Beyond the game itself, Behaviour Interactive has collaborated with Supermassive Games on a new title set in the Dead by Daylight universe, titled The Casting of Frank Stone.

As with any roadmap, Behaviour Interactive has cautioned that timelines may shift as development progresses. While the team remains committed to its outlined plans, players can expect potential changes and additions to the roadmap in the coming months. With a commitment to constant improvement and a packed schedule of updates, Dead by Daylight is poised for a thrilling and engaging finish to 2024.
