David Wicks Returns to EastEnders!

David Wicks Returns to EastEnders!

Beloved character David Wicks, played by Michael French, will be back in Albert Square for a short stint later this year, bringing drama and chaos to the iconic BBC One soap as it gears up for its 40th anniversary.

David's return is sure to cause complications for his half-brother, Ian Beale, especially after the recent return of Jane Beale. Throughout their history, David and Ian have been sworn enemies, battling for the affections of Cindy Beale. Their rivalry even escalated to a notorious storyline where Cindy attempted to hire a hitman to eliminate Ian.

David's original run on the show also revealed a shocking secret: he was the father of Bianca Jackson. This revelation led to a rekindled romance with Bianca's mother, Carol Jackson, in the 2010s.

David last appeared in Walford in 2014 when his relationship with Carol ended. His return promises to bring a whirlwind of drama. "David Wicks is undoubtedly one of EastEnders' most beloved rogues, and we are thrilled to welcome the talented Michael French back to the legendary role as we lead up to the show's 40th anniversary," said producer Chris Clenshaw. "David's character was never shy of drama during his previous stints, and I can assure you this return will be no different."

French expressed his excitement about reprising the role. "I feel honoured to be asked to reprise the role of David Wicks once again. It may only be a brief visit, but we know from his past that David never fails to create a lot of drama in a very short time," he stated.

Clenshaw has planned a series of explosive returns in anticipation of EastEnders' 40th anniversary in February. Recent months have seen the reappearance of several fan favorites, including Lauren and Penny Branning, Johnny Carter, and Jane Beale. Tracy-Ann Oberman will soon be returning as Chrissie Watts, Sharon Watts' stepmother.

With David Wicks back on the scene, EastEnders promises to be even more explosive as it celebrates its milestone anniversary.
