Corrie's Lucy Fallon Confirms Return After Baby News
Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has confirmed her return to the soap after revealing she's expecting her second child. The actress, who plays fan favourite Bethany Platt, announced her pregnancy with partner Ryan Ledson earlier this week, sharing that they are "halfway there" to welcoming their new arrival.
Naturally, fans have been keen to know what this means for Bethany and how long she'll be away from the cobbles. In response to these inquiries, Lucy assured her followers on Instagram that she won't be absent for too long and will be back on the cobbles after giving birth.
To announce her pregnancy, the soap star shared a heartwarming video on Instagram showing her 18-month-old son Sonny Jude hugging the baby scan, alongside a clip of Lucy cradling her growing bump. Fans and fellow Corrie stars were quick to shower the couple with congratulations, including Tanisha Gorey (Asha Alahan), Ellie Leach (Faye Windass) and Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster).
Lucy and Ryan welcomed Sonny in January 2023, announcing his arrival on social media with a sweet photo of them cradling their newborn and the caption: "Our beautiful boy."
Beyond the exciting baby news, Lucy has also revealed that Bethany will be taking centre stage in a significant new storyline later this year. "Bethany has actually got quite a big storyline coming up within the next few weeks, few months," she told Digital Spy.
"It's going to be quite dramatic, quite emotional, which she should be used to right now! It's a good one for me to get my teeth into but it's going to be quite an emotional one for Bethany, playing into her insecurities. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
