Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and actress Dakota Johnson have reportedly ended their seven-year relationship, including their engagement.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair have decided to go their separate ways, with a source revealing they have "accepted the relationship is over and it's best to move on." Representatives for both Martin and Johnson have not yet responded to requests for comment.
Speculation about a split first emerged when Johnson was seen without her engagement ring earlier this month. She also did not join Martin for the European leg of Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres" tour, although she did attend their Glastonbury performance in June.
While the exact timing of Martin's proposal remains unclear, Johnson has been sporting the engagement ring since 2020. In March, insiders exclusively confirmed to Page Six that the pair had been engaged for six years.
The couple first began dating in 2017 following Martin's divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow. The pair, who share daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18, "consciously uncoupled" in 2014 and finalised their divorce the following year.
Martin and Johnson's relationship, though kept mostly private, has been a subject of public interest. In November 2023, Johnson opened up about her struggles with depression, crediting Martin with helping her through a difficult period.
Despite their split, Johnson has remained close with Martin's ex-wife, with the pair even holding hands in a photo last year.
Although the couple's decision to go their separate ways has come as a surprise, it appears both are moving on from their relationship.
