Cobra Kai Cast Picks Their Favorite Fight Scenes

The cast of "Cobra Kai" reveals their favorite fight scenes from the show, highlighting the intense action and emotional weight of the karate battles.

In a recent "Connect the Plots" video for Entertainment Weekly, Xolo Maridueña (Miguel), Peyton List (Tory), Mary Mouser (Sam), Tanner Buchanan (Robby), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), and Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri) shared their personal picks for the best combat scenes in the "Karate Kid" follow-up series.

Buchanan starts by declaring the season 5 apartment brawl as his top choice for his fight with Maridueña, while also selecting a shirtless fight with Eli (Bertrand) for their rivalry. Despite losing two All-Valley Championships to Miguel and Hawk, he confidently proclaims, "In the long run, Robby’s gonna win."

Maridueña, meanwhile, selects their second All-Valley faceoff as his favorite fight with Bertrand, describing it as "fire." He also chooses the apartment sequence as his number one action scene with Buchanan.

Bertrand highlights the season 2 skirmish in Coyote Creek, a challenging fight on slippery wet leaves that he's particularly proud of. He also enjoys the shirtless brawl with Buchanan, as well as a scene where he breaks DeCenzo's character's arm.

Mouser expresses her fondness for the school fight with Tory, explaining, "That was the one that set the story in stone for the rest of our continuation." She also discusses the distinct challenges of performing fight choreography in different locations, highlighting the contrasting styles of mat-based and brawl-style fights.

List chooses the season 4 prom afterparty scuffle as one of her most memorable sequences, citing the "freezing" night, the cement floor, and the pool finale. However, she considers her season 4 All-Valley Tournament battle with Mouser as her top choice.

DeCenzo, with fewer fight scenes to choose from, humorously comments on his character's position "on the outside looking in" of the main conflicts. He ultimately picks the scene where he knocks Bertrand into a trophy case with a "good crescent kick."

The cast's selections offer a glimpse into the intensity and personal significance of the fight scenes in "Cobra Kai," showcasing the choreography, the physical challenges, and the emotional impact they have on the characters.

Part 1 of "Cobra Kai" season 6 premieres Thursday, July 18, on Netflix. Watch the full "Connect the Plots" video for a deeper dive into the cast's favorite fight scenes.
