Cheltenham Lit Fest Unveils Star-Studded 2024 Line-up

The Cheltenham Literature Festival, celebrating its 74th year, has announced a stellar line-up for its 2024 event. From celebrated actors to renowned authors, this year's festival promises a diverse and engaging programme.

Running from 4th to 13th October, the festival will host over 400 events across ten days, taking place in a variety of venues, including the newly added The Snug and The Hush. Tickets for festival members go on sale on Thursday 29th August, with general public booking opening the following week on Thursday 5th September.

Among the literary highlights are appearances by Richard Osman, returning to Cheltenham with the first book in his new series, "We Solve Murders." Comedian and filmmaker Richard Ayoade will discuss his latest book, a quest to revive the forgotten mid-century playwright Harauld Hughes.

The festival will also welcome a plethora of stars from the world of entertainment, including Dame Judi Dench, Miriam Margolyes, Rick Astley, Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell, Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood, and comedian Miranda Hart.

For those interested in current affairs, Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince will present his vision for a green future in Britain, while Carol Vorderman will discuss her transformation from television personality to political activist. Marianna Spring, the BBC's first disinformation and social media correspondent, will delve into the world of online misinformation in her talk "Among The Trolls."

The festival's programme will also explore the realms of art and design, with appearances by art dealer Orlando Whitfield, illustrators Aimée de Jongh and Chris Mould, and designer Thomas Heatherwick.

In the lifestyle sector, Sir Trevor McDonald will share his passion for cricket, while culinary legend Prue Leith and broadcaster Fern Britton will offer insightful sessions on navigating life.
