Chart-topper Sabrina Carpenter Splits From Actor Barry Keoghan Amid Partying Concerns

American singer Sabrina Carpenter has reportedly parted ways with Irish actor Barry Keoghan, with sources attributing the split to his alleged excessive partying. Carpenter, who recently enjoyed chart success with her single "Please Please Please," is said to have ended the relationship three weeks ago, prioritising her burgeoning career.

Carpenter and Keoghan, known for his roles in "The Batman" and "The Killing of a Sacred Deer," were first linked last December when they were spotted dining together in Los Angeles. An insider revealed that Carpenter grew increasingly frustrated with Keoghan's behaviour, particularly his penchant for partying.

"Barry acts like an idiot when he is drunk and Sabrina was getting increasingly frustrated," the source shared. "He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She is soaring in the charts and is putting herself first as she gears up for her tour next month."

The lyrics of Carpenter's hit single, "Please Please Please," seem to mirror the rumoured reasons for the split. The song details a boyfriend causing trouble and damaging her reputation, with lines like "Whatever devil’s inside you don’t let him out tonight" hinting at Keoghan's partying lifestyle.

This latest separation comes after Keoghan's break-up with dental nurse Alyson Kierans in July 2023, with whom he shares a two-year-old son, Brando. Keoghan reportedly informed Kierans that he was planning to pursue a relationship with Carpenter in January of this year.

Carpenter has continued to enjoy success in the UK music charts, becoming the first female artist to hold the number one and number two spots simultaneously for three consecutive weeks. She seemingly alluded to the split rumours last month with a TikTok post captioned "Me saying goodbye to him because I wasn’t his number one streamed artist."

Representatives for both Carpenter and Keoghan have been contacted for comment.
