Celebrity Race Across the World Returns for a Thrilling Second Series

Get ready for another epic adventure as the BAFTA award-winning *Celebrity Race Across the World

returns for a highly anticipated second series! Starting on Wednesday 14th August at 9pm, viewers can tune in on both BBC One and iPlayer to witness four new celebrity duos push themselves to the limit in a race across the vast continent of South America.

This time, the race will take our famous faces on a breathtaking journey of 12,500km, starting in Belém, Northern Brazil, the gateway to the Amazon. They'll navigate five checkpoints as they make their way south, ultimately aiming to reach the finish line in Frutillar, Southern Chile, nestled in the Andes mountains.

The four teams, each consisting of a celebrity and their loved one, are:

Broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy

Actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen

Broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy

Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé), Sam

As they embark on this incredible journey, these familiar faces will have to bid farewell to their luxurious lifestyles and the comforts of modern technology. No fancy transport, smartphones, or bank cards - only their own resourcefulness, ingenuity, and the kindness of strangers will guide them towards their destination.

The inclusion of loved ones alongside the celebrities offers a unique perspective, allowing viewers to see these familiar faces in a new light, through the eyes of those who know them best.

Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer at Studio Lambert, expressed his excitement about the new season: "After the phenomenal success of the first celebrity series, and more recently the fourth series of the regular series, we can't wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery. This race will push our celebrities and their loved ones to their absolute limits."

Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events, added: "We've been delighted by the success of *Celebrity Race Across the World*, and are now incredibly excited to see some new famous faces and their loved ones take on this difficult yet highly rewarding race of a lifetime. We cannot wait to watch their journey unfold."
