Catch Wolverine & Disney Magic: How to Watch D23 Live in Fortnite

Disney's D23 Expo, the annual celebration of all things Disney, is back, promising a whirlwind of exciting news for fans of the House of Mouse. This year, the event, taking place from 9-11 August in Anaheim, California, will see a unique addition: the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, streamed exclusively within Fortnite.

Here's how you can join the fun:

1. Log in to Fortnite: Make sure you're logged in to your Fortnite account at or after 10:30 pm ET on 10 August.
2. Find the island: Head to the Discover bar and locate the "Disney Horizons Live from D23" island. Alternatively, use the island code 7908-6413-2516.
3. Join the event: Access the island to watch the live event, which kicks off at 11:30 pm ET.

Don't worry if you miss the live stream – it will be available on loop until 16 August, allowing you to catch up on all the exciting reveals.

And here's a bonus for dedicated fans: Stay on the island for at least 10 minutes during the event and you'll earn the Peelverine Plush Back Bling, a quirky combination of Wolverine and a banana. While not exclusive to the event, Epic Games has confirmed it may be available for purchase in the game shop later. You'll also be rewarded with XP for watching, with both the Back Bling and XP being awarded on 16 August when the island closes.

So what exactly is the Disney Horizons Live event?

According to Epic Games, this event will showcase upcoming collaborations between Fortnite and Disney. This could include new game modes, skins inspired by beloved Disney characters, additional cosmetic items and more. The specifics remain shrouded in mystery until the event kicks off, but the possibilities are tantalising.

This exciting collaboration stems from a partnership announced in February, where Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games, securing an equity stake in the company. The goal, according to Disney, is to provide Fortnite players with greater access to and engagement with Disney's vast portfolio of properties, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and more.

"Epic Games' industry-leading technology and Fortnite's open ecosystem will help us reach consumers where they are, so they can engage with Disney in the ways that are most relevant to them," said Josh D'Amaro, Chair of Disney Experiences.

Since the initial announcement, both Disney and Epic Games have remained relatively tight-lipped about the collaboration. The Horizons livestream marks the first tangible sign of their partnership coming to fruition. With D'Amaro himself presenting the event, it's likely that the D23 showcase will offer a glimpse into the exciting future of the Disney-Epic Games collaboration for Fortnite players.
