Cannon Confesses: "I Still Believe" in Mariah Carey Reunion

Nick Cannon, father of 12 and ex-husband of music icon Mariah Carey, has admitted he still harbours hopes of rekindling their romance. Despite their divorce being finalised in 2016, the comedian and TV personality remains smitten with his former wife, with whom he shares 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan.

In a candid interview with E! News, Cannon declared, "We belong together," seemingly referencing Carey's 2005 hit song "I Still Believe". When pressed about whether he would reunite with the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" singer, he responded unequivocally: "Yes, absolutely. Be stupid if I wouldn't."

While Carey recently parted ways with boyfriend Brian Tanaka in December, Cannon revealed that their potential reunion is not contingent on her current relationship status. "She don't want me," he admitted, with his co-host on the podcast "We Playin' Spades", Courtney Bee, quipping, "Yeah, you done left and had like 10 kids."

Cannon, known for his lighthearted approach to life, took the comment in stride, jokingly referring to his numerous children as "a whole baseball team." He added, "Like, 'No, you can't come back home.'"

Since their separation, Cannon has welcomed 10 children with five other women. In addition to the twins, he is father to Golden Sagon (7), Powerful Queen (3), and Rise Messiah (1) with Brittany Bell; twins Zion and Zillion (3), and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin (1) with DJ Abby De La Rosa; daughter Legendary Love (2) with Bre Tiesi; daughter Onyx Ice (1) with model LaNisha Cole; and daughter Halo Marie (1) with Alyssa Scott, with whom he also shared son Zen who sadly passed away in December 2021 from brain cancer.

Despite his burgeoning family, Cannon's enduring affection for Carey makes it difficult for him to accept the passage of time and the imminent end of their co-parenting journey. "We gonna be done soon. We got teenagers now. I'm about to shed a tear. It's happening too fast," he shared with E! News.

Cannon and Carey's romance began in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards, where he presented her with the award for Choice Music R&B Artist. Their whirlwind romance led to a proposal in 2008, and a fairytale wedding in the Bahamas that same year, just six weeks after they started dating. The couple would renew their vows annually on their anniversary, culminating in a lavish Cinderella-themed celebration at Disneyland for their fifth year together. Their twins were born on April 30, 2011, marking a significant chapter in their shared history.

While Cannon's hopes for a reconciliation may remain unfulfilled for now, his unwavering adoration for Carey continues to captivate the public and underscores the enduring impact of their once-powerful union.
