Brisbane's New Supper Club: Naldham House Opens its Doors

Brisbane's iconic Naldham House, a heritage-listed building dating back to 1888, has been reborn as a multi-level food and beverage precinct. The three-level space, reimagined by hospitality group DAP & Co, opens its doors this week with two distinct venues: Naldham House Brasserie and Terrace, and Club Felix.

The brasserie, located on the ground floor, seats 95 and is a vibrant explosion of color and pattern. Renowned designer Anna Spiro has transformed the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that's both bold and distinctive. The brasserie's eye-catching feature is a heritage-green bookshelf framing an original fireplace and a painting by Melbourne-based artist Clare Dubina. Guests can choose from an array of seating options, including oversized leather booths, a cozy lounge area, and a lengthy marble bar. Outside, a shaded terrace lined with greenery provides ample space for outdoor dining, accommodating an additional 120 guests.

Executive chef Douglas Keyte, previously of two-hatted Grill Americano in Melbourne, brings his culinary expertise to Naldham House Brasserie and Terrace, crafting a menu rooted in French cuisine. Smaller plates include fresh crudo, beetroot tart, and Mooloolaba king prawns. Mains feature a beef-cheek bourguignon pithivier, Margra lamb noisettes, and roasted Bannockburn free-range chicken. For larger groups, the brasserie offers a 800-gram cote de boeuf and a market fish with meunière sauce and capers. The terrace offers a more casual menu with dishes like Nicoise salad, steak frites, and a wagyu cheeseburger.

To complement the food, the brasserie boasts a 90-bottle wine list, an array of signature and classic cocktails, and 10 beers on tap.

On the first floor, Club Felix awaits, a refined champagne and cocktail lounge doubling as a supper club. This 110-seat venue features a curated champagne list available via Coravin, alongside signature cocktails. Guests can indulge in late-night bites from the supper club menu, which includes potato pave fingers with caviar and crème fraiche, bacalao croquettes, a jamon and comte toastie, and fried whiting sandwich fingers. Spiro has dressed the room in an international klein blue color scheme, incorporating large velvet banquettes and a restored original bar crafted from silky oak.

The opening of Naldham House marks a new chapter for Brisbane's hospitality scene, showcasing a sophisticated blend of culinary innovation and elegant design. With the addition of Keyte, general manager Christian Green, and restaurant manager Steven Ham, the venue boasts a team of seasoned hospitality professionals who are passionate about elevating Brisbane's dining experience.

Naldham House is poised to become a destination for both locals and visitors, providing a vibrant and enticing space to enjoy delicious food, expertly crafted cocktails, and a lively atmosphere.
