Bethenny Frankel's Dress Disaster at "It Ends With Us" Premiere
Reality TV personality and entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel had a less-than-glamorous experience at the premiere of "It Ends With Us" on Tuesday evening. While the former "Real Housewives of New York City" star looked stunning on the red carpet in a pink corset dress, her evening was marred by a series of wardrobe malfunctions, leaving her to declare the event "perfectly unhinged."
Frankel documented her fashion mishaps on Instagram, sharing a video of a detached dress strap and soaked shoes, a consequence of an unexpected downpour. "My strap of my dress came off," she lamented in the video, holding up the offending strap. "I was in the rain. My shoes that are gorgeous are soaked. The wheels are off. I can't go out. This is why nobody takes me anywhere. It's a frickin' disaster."
Further photos showed Frankel huddled under a pink shawl, attempting to shield herself from the elements. Despite the setbacks, she maintained a lighthearted attitude, poking fun at her misfortune and even referencing Blake Lively, the film's star, who was responsible for coaxing her out of her pyjamas for the evening.
"Well only @blakelively could get me out of pyjamas eating chicken salad and only I can manage to turn a glamorous evening into a trainwreck before the event even starts," Frankel wrote in the caption. "The good news is the journey is always as much fun as the destination, as long as margaritas, laughter, a wardrobe malfunction and a monsoon are involved. I suppose âit ends with usâ but it begins with me making a jackass out of myselfâ¦"
Frankel's post also included a humorous anecdote about encountering Anna Wintour at the premiere, suggesting that the Vogue editor-in-chief had a Met Gala invitation waiting for her.
In a pre-premiere TikTok video, Frankel had proudly shown off her Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she claimed had been waiting for its "moment" and was "giving Blake Lively" with its elegant, floral-inspired design. She complemented the look with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes adorned with pink floral details, an Audemars Piguet watch, and sparkly "bling."
"It Ends With Us," based on Colleen Hoover's 2016 best-selling novel, stars Blake Lively as florist Lily Bloom. Lively has embraced the floral theme of the film throughout the press tour, opting for a variety of floral-inspired outfits. For the premiere, she chose a vintage Versace gown previously worn by Britney Spears in 2002.
"It is Britney's actual dress," Lively told PEOPLE exclusively. "It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met. But it's on me. I feel so lucky!"
While Bethenny Frankel's evening may have taken an unexpected turn, she handled the situation with her signature humour and resilience, proving that even a wardrobe malfunction can't dampen the spirit of a good time.
