Baby's First This Morning: Sian Welby Returns with Ruby in Tow

Sian Welby made a radiant return to This Morning on Monday, just eight weeks after welcoming her daughter, Ruby, into the world in late June. The 37-year-old ITV presenter brought her little one along for the ride, introducing baby Ruby to the studio alongside her fiancé, Jake Beckett.

Welby looked effortlessly stylish in a pastel green blazer and shorts as she rejoined Craig Doyle for the morning show. The co-host was quick to acknowledge the newest addition to the This Morning family, gushing: "You've brought along a very, very special guest - our newest, tiniest, cutest member of the This Morning family, with Jake."

Beckett sweetly cradled Ruby and cooed, "Say hello, Ruby," as Doyle added, "The nation curls up with cuteness, aw Sian."

Looking down at her bundle of joy, Welby quipped, "Little Ruby, oh it's so sweet to have her with me today because I was quite nervous about leaving her, do you know what I mean?"

"She did a big poo before we left. She's all good now," Beckett reassured, prompting a chuckle from Welby. Doyle hilariously interjected with "We're all nervous," and Welby remarked, "You had the same sort of morning, did you?"

The heartwarming exchange ended with Doyle thanking Welby for bringing Ruby to the studio, as Beckett joked they'd be sticking around for the cooking segment.

Welby's return to This Morning follows her announcement of her impending return to Capital Breakfast alongside Jordan North and Chris Stark. In a video call with her co-hosts and Kemi Rodgers, who had been covering her maternity leave, Welby revealed she would be back in the studio on September 2.

Holding baby Ruby, Welby expressed her excitement: "I'm so thrilled to get back into the studio with Jordan and Chris! We have some huge plans for when I return, so make sure you're tuned in."

Welby's return to the airwaves comes after a brief but well-deserved maternity leave, during which she enjoyed a family beach trip with Beckett and baby Ruby.

The radio star previously spoke to her This Morning co-stars Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard via video call a few days after giving birth, admitting she was "deliriously tired" following an emergency C-section.

"I am tired, delirious, but it's the best thing I have ever done. I am absolutely over the moon," she said. "I am loving every second despite it being carnage at times. Jake was actually filming me at the time when I held her and I said: 'I can't believe I'm meeting you, it feels like a dream!'"
